The MP3 splitter seems to work quite well. I am considering buying it but would like to try it out a little longer. It certainly works fast and is so much quicker than manually splitting.

A pretty good piece of software, not particularly intuitive to use at first. This is a reflection of the number of options and accuracy allowed. Now I am used to it it works well. Only on a 30 day trial period, not sure if its worth paying for when they are similar free-to-use equivalent.
One glitch I have found, when trimming a track (say from 6 mins to 4 mins)and loading the trimmed version into itunes, itunes shows a nonsense, meaningless playing time (eg 38 mins)

I download many long MP3s and put them on an iPod to listen to later. One and two hour MP3s are impossible to manage. I wanted to split each MP3 into 5 or 6 minute sections which Direct Wave MP3 Spliter does in seconds. I have Adobe Audition and like programs but they are much too slow...
Good Program at an excellent price. I highly recommend this program.

Does just what it say's it will do. I like the way it detects the gaps and generates the MP3's without manual editing. Good job!

This is a very nice piece of software, I particularly liked how it automatically detected silences in between tracks and split the file up accordingly. This saved me alot of time and effort.

Good points - does everything it says - cuts into sections by reference to time, by reference to the requested division of the file, or automatically by reference to silence in the file.

Bad point (one only) - it chops the end off each split section of the file, (including where the division is based on silence in the file) so that when played, there is a very clear jump between the sections

I tried to large wav files the first split into 8 equal parts ok, the second failed it gave 7 equal parts and the 8th end up as the original file, tried three times with same results.

i thought the program was very good. but when i splitted the file a problem was discovered. it copied the file a couple of times but it wasn't a problem since i only needed to delete the files. otherwise it was a very good program.

Can't say much. I'm using Windows Vista and Direct WAV MP3 Splitter 2.4 consistently triggers the blue screen of death before it finishes launching. I do plan to try it on my XP machine, but haven't got around to it yet.

The best MP3 splitter on the market

This is easily the best MP3 splitter on the market for one key reason: It is the only one to analyze large MP3s for empty data/pauses in content and to auto split based on the blank spot. Using default settings the splitter does a pretty accurate (usually about 90% accuracy)job of splitting up large, > 2GB mp3 files into smaller tracks. For those spots where it does too much splitting, (quiet tracks, tracks with built in musical pauses) it is necessary to use the companion joiner product to unsplit.

It would have been nice to buy both of these features in one tool and to have better documentation on the usage of the split feature to attempt to tune the splitter's recognition of pauses in streamed output.

Again, tool refused to handle my WAV file

Enough said, Media Player can play the file but no tool seems to be anle to handle it
